Passion and performance are great, but if you don’t have that passion any more it gets harder to give that extra.
In fact, it gets harder to do anything – except see your mounting “To-Do” list.

3 tips to get your passion back
- NOW: Take time out and really speak to some recent clients. Not an email, but really listen to them. What is about about working with you that they found good? Don’t just ask them for a bland testimonial and the usual drivel – ask for some specifics (did you read Testimonials are a complete waste of time?). Armed with what real people are saying is really good about you, will help you feel better (and it’s great marketing material). What’s more, its 20 times more believable as you asked for real details.
- BACK THEN: Look back and remember what it was that made you start this firm. Think about the exciting things that you thought about then, are you still doing them? Chances are you’ve either forgotten about them, given them to another member of staff or you’ve veered so far off of your strategy that you aren’t getting them. How can you recapture them?
- THE FUTURE: What other great things are going on in your industry that you’ve thought about in your plans? What is exciting out there that you could build into your firm? Where are you taking your practice to? Sometimes in the day to day drudgery it’s easy to forget the exciting future.
A bonus idea – yes that’s another idea to improve your business.
